Over at the Joe Shuster Awards blog, Kevin Boyd posted a response to my brief Joe Shuster Awards round-up and makes some good points about the Shusters and the Doug Wright awards.
Kevin had one concern stemming from my use of the term "extending an olive branch" to characterize a Word on the Street panel yesterday sponsored by The Beguiling and the Sequential website featuring members of the DW's and Kevin. I did not mean to imply a war between the two awards. I believe they are, in fact, quite complimentary.
I meant only to point it out as a refreshing signal that a spirit of cooperation is growing between the two awards. I should have chosen my words more carefully.
Both awards have a different focus and unique viewpoints but are each good, healthy additions to our industry. And it did this canuck proud to hear of them sharing insights and addressing questions together.
Hugs all around.
You are right, more careful you should be when writing a comparison of 2 awards that could be misinterpreted and could cause a little trouble in some way.
